The installation Harmonic Motion (in F#) by Cem Çakmak sets an acoustic system in motion: vibrations from sound bodies unfold into an acoustic geometry in space. The movement creates an audible field of proximity, distance, and temporal presence — hearing becomes movement. Space becomes an instrument. The work expands on an existing series of research by the artist, which develops in clear spatial settings: With nötr (2018, EMPAC, New York), a multi-channel system was formulated as an acoustic topography in space. NO AXIS (2021, Gitterraum, Essen) shifted this concept from high-tech venues to urban sites. In Oblique (2022, frei-raum.berlin, Berlin), statically placed sound bodies organized the space through alignment, distance, and architectural tension.
